WOYWW 190

Happy WOYWW goodness doesn't the week just disappear. I do hope the snow hasn't caused you too much chaos this week. I’m fortunate that if I have to I can walk to work. Sorry a sad and empty desk this week except some pretty papers I want to use next and a pile of scrap to sort and see what I can save, does that mean I can’t take part? Will I be in trouble with Julia, who?...The fabulous host of the stamping ground of course; where we all get to share our workdesks with you each Wednesday. Why don’t you go check it out or even take part? We would love you to so we can come take a good look around!

sad desk area

I’m off on holiday on Friday for a week ...my daughters birthday at the weekend, so will be phoning her, I wouldn't be seeing her as she’s away at Uni...I’m looking forward to Easter when she hopes to come home for a week; It felt like I hardly got to spend any time with her at Christmas so really looking forward to that. You will need to wait to see her birthday card that I teased you with last week hopefully next week if I can get an internet connection when I’m away. Here is a photo of the garden too make up for my lack of anything interesting. I took it early on Monday morning;

pretty snow

I do think the snow is so pretty shame really it causes so much havoc for some. I hope you all have a wonderful week and will visit all you “WOYWWERS” after work this evening have a fab day...

Tilda in Trousers

Morning from a very snowy Lincolnshire, it looks very pretty from the window although  not sure if I will feel quite the same about it when I need to go to work later today. Its been quite a busy weekend and Monday has came around very quickly! I didn't stop, got all the food shopping, housework, ironing done and packed our suitcases (almost complete only last few bits to go in) as we are going on holiday for a week on Friday. I’m working late most days this week including Thursday so I won’t have the time to do it before we go. I can’t wait; work has been very very stressful these past few months so looking forward to a break; lots of work, no staff, uncertainty about the future and stress so a week of R+R is just what’s needed. Hubby has booked a week in Tenerife, I haven’t been before but know I will enjoy it, I’m just happy to be going anywhere and knowing that it’s a bit warmer than home and there should be no snow!…bliss. I did manage to fit in some card making too so the weekend wasn’t all work. This was the other Tilda that was going to be the potential daughter’s birthday card coloured before Christmas. As with the last Tilda card I scrapped that plan when she announced she didn't like “people cards.”

Sorry pics look a bit washed out was very dull this morning and I had to use flash

Card Base

It has changed from my original plan and I’ve went for an easel card which is my favourite. I love the silver/mauve ribbon (I can’t decide on the colour!...it seems to change in different lights) which was a fab buy from Lakeland reduced to a silly price as had been packaged wrongly… I snapped it up and now have 6 lovely new ribbons reels to add to my stash. I haven’t added a sentiment yet when the time comes to use it I will add it then. I used some of the dies I got for Christmas including the hearts and the spiral flowers, I am loving my die cutter and my wish list grows daily with so many pretty designs to choose from, every time I see a pretty card with dies its another must have to add to my list!. Its time for me to go and get organised for work. I’m not quite sure how I’m going to get there yet! I hope you have a fab week and if out and about in the snow keep safe. Crafty hugs Andrea X

WOYWW 189

Happy WOYWW and I’ve made it again this weekjust; I set my alarm early so I could do a quick post before work. Made what? You ask why you don’t hop over to the Stamping Ground to the wonderful host Julia to take a look and even maybe take part. The wonderful weekly get together, where we all get to share and look at work desks around the world…its fab and very addictive. I’m sorry nothing much to show again this week, I finished a card on Monday but I’ve had no time since then to start anything else .Covered is my daughters birthday card which I’m working on. I can’t show as she will see it; sorry…so I thought I’d tease her a little with leaving out a few clues of what I’ve used. I will post it after her birthday. Got to get ready for work but I will be back this evening to visit. Have a happy WOYWW and a great week. I hope the weather isn't causing you too many problems.
Lots of warm hugs Andrea x

Tilda and Teddy

This was initially started before Christmas and was going to be for my daughter’s birthday card until she announced whilst home at Christmas that she didn’t like people stamps or Tilda …shock how you can not like such an adorable girl, so it was back to the drawing board and I have a new plan . Which I wont be able to show until after the event as she will see it. I’ve not had much crafting timeof late so made the most of some tim ei had last night and as Tilda wa sitting there ready and waiting she just had to be used, needing inspiration I decided to follow a sketch this time. The Addicted to Stamps sketch fitted the bill perfectly as it has lots of layers which I like so I went for it. I’m overall happy although I had die cut a very pretty border then realised after I had glued the lace on I hadn’t used it!... ughh less haste more speed a they say. A quick post as have work soon, I had planned to do this earlier this morning but that didn’t work out! Hope everyone has a fab week and you haven’t been too disrupted by the snow, hugs Andrea x

I had big plans for this morning to get up early and do my post, it went a bit wrong and now I’m a bit (BIG BIT) late…eeek. I’ve been working late finishes all week so not a lot of time for card making so sorry for the lack of anything finished or near finished desk. I’m planning to make my wedding anniversary card for hubby this week, which is another issue as I’m working late that night too. But we won’t go there.
 lots of hearts !

Christmas Clear Up And Craft Time

I’ve completed another saturated canary card tonight and again I’ve tried to go for a more vintage look. I’m still working on how to achieve this and ink the papers properly …but will keep practising! I’ve a friend in mind to give this card to although that wasn’t the plan when I started,a s initially it was just for fun, I do need to make an anniversary card for next week and daughters birthday card for the end of January… so they are next on my list.
I had started my daughter’s card before Christmas, until she announced whilst home that she wasn't keen on “people” cards like Tilda!!! Shock...horror!...I had coloured two separate Tilda’s and was working on both as I wasn't sure which one I preferred!...so now I’m looking for a cute animal stamp /digi to use instead and today I’ve saw that I won the random prize from Glitter "n" Sparkle for Di’s Digi Downloads so I’m sure I will find the perfect stamp there as they have a huge range of cute ones …how lucky am I!

 Vellum roses
Sorry about the colours it looks peach and grey but its more pink and green. I think Its because the photos where taken this evening with no natural light source.
I used some of my wonderful Christmas goodies on this card including my copics, and dies including the lovely scalloped label die I used for Jules, edge border and spiral flower. … It’s also the first time I’ve used vellum another pressie that I think will get lots of use, I was surprised how well it die cut although a few of the corners I die cut did split/crack slightly.
I went for more green tones this time as noticed it was nearly a blue card again this week, but I steered away …it was a close call.
we put all the Christmas decorations away today, the house always looks so bare once everything gets packed away; we usually have it all done by now but haven’t had the time this week …only 355 days to Christmas…can’t wait… LOL I love it! I’m happy I’ve had my “me” time and craft fix so good to go for another week.
Hope you all have a wonderful week hope to be back soon … hugs Andrea x

WOYWW 187

Well I didn't think I’d make it this morning; but here I am and wishing all the WOYWWERS and Bloggers much happiness and good health for 2013. Why don’t you hop over to the stamping ground and see what’s going on in the crafty world around us, .Julia the fabulous host will make you most welcome... If this is new to you; it’s the opportunity to have a good look around everyone who takes part amazing workdesks with permission!... its FAB especially if like me you’re a tad nosey!
Not a lot going on here I’m afraid, my desk is a little neglected, I’m in the process of starting another card and I did get one finished yesterday which I started at the weekend, I made the most of using some of my great Christmas goodies and hopefully will have something more to show soon. Unfortunately work is somewhat difficult at the minute and I’ve lots of late night finishes unfortunately leaving no time in the week for card making or anything else, but it won’t be forever and I did get the bank holidays off so mustn’t grumble.
Well need to get ready for work so best wishes and good health to everyone. I hope that 2013 is a good year and see you again soon Hugs... Andrea x

My first post of 2013…Happy New Year

I finally got some time at the weekend and today to play with some of my fab presents. Before Christmas I was working on my daughter’s birthday card but I've had to stash that away for now until she goes back to Uni… I don’t want her peaking at it! This card is for no specific reason other than enjoyment. I've been trying out my new pens and dies and generally having a bit of fun. I love all the Saturated Canary stamps and she was a joy to colour, I've went for blues again my favourite colour which I think you may have guessed by now if you are a follower! I inked all the papers and card using distress ink which for a first attempt it went ok although a bit patchy in areas… I'm sure practice makes perfect. The flower die was a present, I can see me using it a lot, it’s so easy and pretty and I can change the size dependant on how tightly I roll it fab! Unfortunately I don’t have much time for card making in the week with work, but I do get the chance to pop into my craft room and play around with papers and bits planning my next one; which I will hopefully get to do at the weekend.

I hope everyone has had a lovely time over the festive period and are all set for the New Year and your resolutions, I have a list for this year!.. Which I’m keeping quiet about as tend not to do well... so I though the more I have the better the chance that I achieve at least one…that’s the logic anyway we will see. I hope you have more success with yours!

Well got to go get dishes finished from dinner tonight was the last ‘big meal’ before my daughter goes back tomorrow, her time home has went so quickly but it has been lovely . I hope you have good week …hugs Andrea X
