CAS- Monochrome Card

Morning a quick card today and short post; I finally got the opportunity at last to play with my GC and new die cuts at the weekend . It’s the first time I’ve attempted this style of card and not sure if I like it or not but will enjoy the challenge of trying some more. I tried to keep the design simple and not add too any embellishments which was difficult for me to do but overall I’m quite happy. I love the the intricate dies and didn't want to detract from them .I love the butterfly embossing which was a free folder with a magazine which I had to emboss twice to get the correct size was more difficult than I thought to line it up properly ! which means it has a join hence the ribbon being in a slightly strange position ideally I would have had the centre panel higher also, but the glue had already set once I realised this, Off to get ready for work but hopefully will get some more crafty  time later in the week. Hope you have a great week ahead, thanks for visiting its much appreciated; hugs Andrea X.

WOYWW 203

Good morning and happy WOYWW. I did not think I would make it today.Hubby has gone on a  training course for a few days and taken the laptop I usually use with him as its lighter, leaving behind his new one with windows 8..... arggh its taken me 2 hours to upload my pics and I cant find the word processor anywhere!... me and technology don't mix; so sorry for the poor quality photos but I couldn't edit or even crop them. I did well getting this far!

What you can see which is fab is my CG is back sporting anew handle; its a different colour but hey it works so can play again and get to use my new dies. The card I'm working on is for no one/reason in particular other than I can dip in and out of the craft room when I have the time to do another little bit and its nearly finished just needs all gluing together.

WOYWW 202

Happy WOYWW and a rare treat I’m off work today so will have some time in amongst the housework and ironing for a bit of blog hopping over at the Stamping Ground, where the wonderful Julia kindly hosts the best blog hop of the week. I get the opportunity to snoop around the wonderful desks of this week’s Woywwers...go check it out you won’t be disappointed. My desk is al tidy and ready to go; I did a batch of stamping a few weeks ago and these are the next in line for colouring. I also had a delivery yesterday of some new goodies but no news as yet regarding the replacement /repair of  my GC so will be chasing that up again today! Its taken weeks and I'm getting very frustrated!

all set and ready to go

new goodies

The completed card below was supposed to be my daughters Easter card unfortunately I dint get it finished in time so it’s now celebrating spring. She loves all things dotty hence the dotty ribbon and papers and is not a fan of fuss and flowers; it was difficult not to go OTT but I think I managed it…just! I love these cute stamps from LOTV and would happily have all of them and they are also great fun to colour. I had a look at their new sketch pads too which look fab and such a great idea, hopefully I will get my hands on them soon...I hope you have a great week and thanks for visiting. Hugs Andrea X

WOYWW?... what‘s this you ask?...its the amazing weekly worldwide get together hosted by the wonderful Julia at the Stamping Ground .The host generously allows us to share our crafty spaces; wherever they are and whatever is on them. It’s very addictive and you get to visit a huge range of talented people with many different skills and expertise .Why don’t you give it a go? Sorry very little activity on my desk since the weekend when I did manage to finish both my daughters Easter card (now a spring card! and in the post so cant show you yet) and the completed one below. Most of the work and prep had been done for these weeks ago as they where to be Easter cards but I run out of time!

This week I’ve started to put together the bits and pieces for another stamp I coloured at the same time and hopefully will finish this card over the weekend .the bunny card was to be an Easter card but I run out of time, as its such a cute stamp I just had to complete it anyway; I’m sure it will go to a good home sometime. I wanted to keep the Bunny as the focus so went for quite plain backing papers//I think it’s worked ok.. Hopefully I will be back again next week and that everyone has a  great week ahead .Lots of hugs. Andrea X

One Year Blog Anniversary and a BIG Thank You

A post this evening but no card as it’s a special weekend and I nearly missed it!I can’t believe a whole year has past since I started both blogging and regular card making .Thanks to my daughter who reminded me today It was a year ago on the 6th April that I wrote my first post. She was back from uni for Easter when she helped me set up my account and get me going...Goodness I didn't have a clue! (I’m not that much better now!)
Its been quite an amazing journey,I’ve met so many amazing people from all corners of the world and found a wealth of inspirational and imaginative crafters. Crafters who are kind and caring and only to happy share there lives, knowledge, ideas and friendly words of support.
We all start for a reason and my reason was to de-stress;a way to relax and switch off from work. Without this I don’t think I’d have coped quite so well with all the ongoing issues over the last 6 months.
I might not have the time now to visit as often as I would like or have much time for card making for another few months yet; but even a quick 5 minute blog hop brightens my day. I want to say a big thank you to everyone who follows me,the regular people that I visit and all those that have visited me.
I only hope that everyone gets as much pleasure and enjoyment as I get form this virtual caring crafty world and that I’m around to enjoy many many more years. Lots of Hugs Andrea x

WOYWW 200

Wow another week has passed and it’s again time for that worldwide blog hop WOYWW what’s this you ask? It’s a fab weekly get together of all sorts of craftiness courtesy of the wonderful host Julia at the Stamping Ground. Why don’t you go check it out …you’ll be hooked I didn't expect to make it this week so I’m very happy to be here. It’s been a bit manic so far but not nearly as bad as I thought it would be .work on Monday was a very long day and the rest of the week will be as busy, although I am off work on Sunday to catch up and hope to get into the craft room for a fix. I’ve already been to work this morning at a different site and home again. Hopefully this will only be in the short term then back to normal I’m off again shortly for a late shift. Yesterday was a shock to the system when I had to get up at 4am which is not my usual shower time! Not quite so early this morning as yesterday was the first time and I didn't want to be late so was 4:30 am today. But I struggled to stay awake on the way back!
long view desk

Unfortunately as you can see not a lot happening on my desk… it’s nice and tidy though and I’ve some new goodies to play with a mix off new purchases and magazine freebies; when I have the time and get my GC back (hopefully!) The bits covered are my daughters Easter card that I didn't manage to get finished but I will and hopefully get  delivered too just a bit late! (no peeking
