My hubby suggested after the success of my step daughters card (she loved it... or is a great actress... I'm assuming the former is true) that I make the card for a male friends 50th Birthday. With it being the Royal Jubilee weekend and my first 'male card' what a better combination than 'red white and blue'. For a first attempt I'm quite pleased, although I need to work on my skin colours which I have yet to make realistic, I really struggled to get a Caribbean look right. It has been the quickest card I've made so far and the most cut out elements I've ever used, not sure if its 'my thing' though, but I enjoyed trying out new things. Everywhere has Jubilee fever, during my blog hopping I came across My mums craft shop blog with the theme this week of 'red white and blue' (as are many this week). I especially liked DT member Suzie's wedding card, I would never have thought that this colour combination would work but it really does... it's a beautiful card, this is why I spend so much time blog hopping -the extraordinary the range of expertise and imagination that people have... I LOVE IT!
'Lets Celebrate Your Birthday '
I used the Best of British paper collection Free with magazine to complete this card. For the front and inside I chose Sizzix papers which I layered onto red card. Decorating the panel with red/white bakers twine. The bunting and sentiment I cut from Alison Butler papers, also from the Best of British paper collection. I coloured Edwin using my wonderful promarkers, added some bakers twine bows to the bunting and silver candi to complete. I was planning to replace the wine glasses with a 50th peel off but it didn't look quite right so I reverted back to the glasses which I added with 3d foam.
