Wednesday again ...doesn't it come around ever so quickly!...time to share what's on my workdesk ...why ? its WOYWW go check out the Stamping Ground where Julia the host explains all and will make you feel welcome... It's the weekly crafty get together of all types of workdesks around the world...where we all get a good snoop into everyone's crafty goings on. Here is my desk at 8pm last night ( sorry poor quality pics) mid card production... I used watercolour paints to colour in my stamp ...not sure how I feel about it ?...I definitely prefer my pens but was good to try something new, I have not mastered the art of delicate water colouring painting yet by any means!...I definitely needs a lot more practice as turned out quite heavy and dark and you would not recognise it as painted !
work in progress
the long desk shot !
I did try using distress markers to colour that was a bigger disaster and I am definitely not showing them...they where filed in the bin !...think I need to watch quite a few more hours of You Tube videos first and ideally attend some classes!.Go to the stamping ground and see the delights on offer; that's where I'm off to next before work. I will visit fellow WOYWWers after work today as early start again. Thanks for hopping in...crafty hugs Andrea X
I like looking at desks and work spaces. I may have to join in with this soon.,
ReplyDeleteI love the colours of those papers... keep practising (that's what they say, I should listen to my own words, lol!!) Happy WOYWW Helen 11
ReplyDeleteLove the blues and oranges together - I made a tote bag with those colours a couple of weeks ago and they were very cheery!
ReplyDeleteHugs, LLJ 27 xx
Your image looks delightful and love those bright colours you have on your desk.

Thanks for visiting me Andrea. I love watercolouring..I use an Aquabrush, I find that you get better coverage this way. I am currently using Gelato's and watercolour pencils, as I found paint too dark - I love your image btw, it is stunning. I also want to know what is in that button pot on your desk and can you please 'loan' me those border / edge dies :) Cx #21
ReplyDeleteI can see some lovely bright colours on your desk Andrea, I find water colouring difficult - I tend to overwork it and end up with a soggy mess, I can't wait to see your masterpiece.

ReplyDeleteGreat colours Andrea. Good luck with your stamping, I'm sure it will be beautiful. Pam # 87
ReplyDeleteLOL! I thought I was the only one that filed away those "not so good" tries in the round filing cabinet.
ReplyDeleteSuper great color combo on your desk.
Thanks for visiting this week

Nice desk.I spied some softies about your space!I love dolls most. Yes the stamping..I am not a great stamper.I just use the ink pads. There are new stamp pads out now which can stamp on surfaces other than card and paper.Let me know and I'll find out the name of them.
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting me.

I love the colors - they are very bright and cheery. Just keep trying with the coloring - it takes time and patience and trial and error. April #14
ReplyDeleteHappy WOYWW... Love your desk full of craftyness. Time most certainly flys. See you next week.
ReplyDeletehugs,
Kimmer #91... last , but not least AGAIN.. LOL
hullo there Andrea... your card is looking interesting see you have the borderablities have them too and made two cards with them.. here is my Pint-erst page on them as found it was good way of storing ideas.:

Also find pencils work better .. if you have them I colour with them on a pallette pad like here:
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/PICK-FROM-SKETCHING-DRAWING-WATERCOLOUR-OIL-PAINT-PASTEL-ACRYLIC-PADS-A4-A5-/400669116815?pt=Tattoos_Body_Art&var=&hash=item5d49bd898f
and mix with ordinary or aqua brush and colour that way.
If you have paints, then try and mix them on palette or saucer and test them out before applying to paper on a test piece of paper. A clean wash over area you are painting background or large area is good idea.. hope that helps :D
Happy WOYWW Shaz in Oz.x #15 thanks for popping over.
Thanks for sharing your desk and thank you for visiting and leaving your best wishes.
ReplyDeleteOoooo LoVe the colors of your choice of papers! Your work desk is so personal with your animals and all! Thanks for sharing!

Really cheerful paper colours Andrea..and the image looks fab from here. I'm not a hugely confident colourer, I like solid stamps for that reason!!
ReplyDeleteI love water colour paints and pencils too, but I need a lot more practice. I quite like painting with Perfect Pearls too to give a different effect. Thank you for your visit this week. Glad you enjoyed your trip to the show. Barbara is just as nice as she seems to be, what you see is what you get, and she is just so talented. Have a good week of crafting. xx Maggie #8
ReplyDeletePS A list is not too helpful. you take one look at all the lovely brand new things and the list is gone. xx Maggie
ReplyDeleteTry putting the colour onto a craft mat and lightly spraying with water then touch the ink with your stamp, you will get more of a watercolour effect. Hope that might help, Angela #59

ReplyDeleteI am very bad at water colours, so no advice from me this week. I think it looks pretty good actually.
ReplyDeleteYour desk looks great.
Happy very belated WOYWW!

I don't think I've seen your desk that active in a long time, Andrea! Go you!
ReplyDeleteI have never gotten the trick of stamping with distress inks either and I bought a bunch of them and those little sponge things. Sigh. So you aren't alone on that! I keep thinking "one of these days I'll learn how to do it ... ." Take care! Hugs, Darnell
